About this deal

The white version has a liveliness to it, again, especially the one with the red second hand as it really pops in contrast. It has 50 meters of water resistance, which technically can handle shallow water (though to be safe, I never recommend getting your watches completely drenched). Let’s just say it can handle a light drizzle outside, and maybe even a little dishwashing better than the Weekender can. The glass is a plain old mineral glass crystal, not the more expensive sapphire, so it's a little less scratch-prone. But if you are a severe user, then the mineral is occasionally less prone to shatter. Dial

The Weekender's efficiency to mix and match various watch faces and NATO strap options basically mean you can wear it everywhere. You can be creative with band colors and adorn them to your heart's content. Durability Well, yes and no. That depends on what you do for a living and whether or not boardroom flexing is part of the game. If you answered yes to the latter, I suggest you stop reading now and go get yourself some fancy calling cards. However, if your work environment is less toxic (and a lot less “executive”), here’s a great candidate for a grab and go timepiece. Ladies and gents, meet the Timex Weekender. For those who aren’t too familiar with the Weekender, it’s arguably one of the most popular budget watches to date. Also, try not to be fooled by its name, okay? The Weekender is nigh on perfect as an everyday option. So long as you’re fine with a time-only display. “But isn’t a Seiko 5 a great everyday opti-“

Beneath the cell type text, the water resistance rating of 30 m is displayed. With that in mind, it’s fair to say this watch will not be joining you in the pool anytime soon. Best keep it to light splashes in the washroom when you scrub your hands down, then. “Can I not swap straps?”

One subjective downside to this is that even the simplest Expedition is downright cluttered compared to clean-looking Weekenders. Even the Scout has those extra “ Expedition” and “WR” appellations on its face. Of course, this is a matter of personal taste. Features It’s easy to pair because, in a way, it’s like a blank canvas. I’ve seen stylish gents partner the red-hand versions with red leather straps or nylon bracelets with red accents, and it’s a really spirited combination. That’s definitely one thing about the Expedition line. It’s not nearly as minimalist as the Weekender.

The weekender is a well-crafted watch that is trustworthy enough and there are barely any defects to notice. On a steel case, it has an extremely clean brass rounded bezel. The Timex name was first used as a limited run during World War II, making reliable, no-frills, army-inspired pieces a part of their brand history. Source: Timex There are 38-millimeter Weekenders and 40-millimeter ones. Both are super adaptable, though I personally love a 38-millimeter everyday timepiece. This is especially so when it comes to models that are inspired by old military watches because they were closer to that size. If you want a general beater that you can transform via strap changes and wear with a range of outfits, go for the shiny-cased Weekender. It’s also legible, much less cluttered-looking, and is, as mentioned, a quintessential Timex watch. While some quarters will inevitably accuse it of looking boring, there’s no denying that the Weekender is a handsomely styled watch that won’t offend. You could pair it with a T-shirt/jeans setup or a shirt/trousers combo and the Weekender will look right at home. Short of gunning for an executive outfit or something for the opera, the Weekender will fit most work (and play) settings. Most of the watches in the Timex Expedition line, including the Scout, run on reliable quartz movements. That being the case, they’re accurate and practical enough for everyday timekeeping. What is the Timex Weekender?
